X-Board: The first compact satellite board, with integrated GloRisers, designed exclusively for Expression Pedals.

Why X-Board?

I have an FC12 that I use with my Axe-FX III and I also have an FM3 that I use for smaller gigs, and as a backup device. I wanted to be able to easily use my 2 expression pedal with both setups (I don't mount my FC12 to a board) but wanted the expression pedals mounted and lit using the GloRiser system I designed a while back. Basically, I needed a compact pedalboard, custom designed for expression pedals, that I could easily take between my two rigs and would allow me to mount the pedals without having to remove pedal feet, as well as light them up. Simply unplug the leads and throw it into a backpack. This is how X-Board was born!

In Summary:

  • Minimal footprint pedalboard designed specifically for ONE Fractal EV-2 and ONE Mission/Dunlop Crybaby style pedal - (28cm Wide x 31cm tall x 3cm deep)
  • Enables easy sharing of pedals between devices (e.g. FM3, FM9, FC6, FC12)
  • Solid, yet light, 30mm thick triple layered acrylic design, with layers securely attached using velcro (comes fully assembled)
  • TWO integrated Glo-Risers to mount pedals - no need to remove pedal feet
  • Can include two (optional) USB powered LED lights to individually light up pedals
  • ... super handy for dark stages and equally cool in home studios!

The Details
X-Board is custom designed for specific pedals. This version is for ONE Fractal EV-2 and ONE Mission / Dunlop Crybaby footprint pedal. You can choose to have it configured for which pedal goes on which side when you order.

X-Board consists of THREE solid laser-cut Acrylic pieces, which are held together with Velcro:

  1. A 5mm thick black base-plate with non-slip material in each corner
  2. A 15mm thick clear centre with cutouts for pedals to go into and for lights to be placed to light each pedal up individually
  3. A 5mm thick top plate.
  4. When velcro'd together (it comes assembled), they make a solid and durable 30mm thick 'layered' pedalboard that is light and compact enough to fit into a backpack, keeping your rig small, flexible and looking cool!

The ability to light each pedal individually is super useful for stage use, which I learned through talking with many touring artists, who needed to easily see pedals on dark stages and identify functions.

Dimensions
With the three layers attached with Velcro (it will come assembled with velcro), this X-Board is 28cm Wide x 31cm tall x 3cm deep

MISSION PEDAL SIZE - IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!
The 'Mission' side of the X-Board has been designed to fit a standard sized Dunlop Crybaby Wah, which is used as a footprint for many expression pedals, including multiple Mission pedals. HOWEVER... even Mission pedals come in different sizes, so please refer to the sizing diagram below to check your pedal will fit before ordering!

LIGHTS - OPTIONAL!
You don't HAVE to use lights with X-Board, and can just use it as a cool compact board in it's own right. However, if you want to light up your pedals, you can use your own RGB LED strip lights if you have any, and the video below shows how to place the lights within the channels of the board.

Alternatively, you can can choose the option to INCLUDE lights when you order and I'll properly trim and insert the lights in the channels of your X-Board, ready to go (these are self adhesive and can be stuck to the inner edges of the middle section - but I'll leave that to you if you wish to do so - check the video for details on this).

LIGHTS - IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!
The lights are USB powered (standard 5v USB power), so you'll need a suitable USB power outlet to light them up (I use a USB power bank). Every light is thoroughly tested before shipping so please ensure you don't try to power it in any other way than above or you'll end up owning a dead light(it's also easy to see if a light has been fried by incorrect voltage). In the unlikely event a light arrives dead (never happened yet!) I'll replace it, of course.

A remote control is provided and the lights can do a bunch of stuff from fading to flashing, morphing or just sitting on a single colour. There is a cutout at the back edge of the X-Board where the leads for the lights come out (and can be tucked away). CHECK OUT THE VIDEO FOR FULL DETAILS!!
